DMC & Mulhouse textile museum
The eco-museum of Mulhouse in France and its partner DMC are celebrating with emerging designers the "Art of the thread".
As the world leader of the thread industry, DMC has been walking a long path since 1800, when the company had first established itself in the city of Mulhouse, not far from the german border. Thanks to its audacity and creativity, DMC has crossed the centuries and present today a one of a kind exhibition.
Indeed 20 international textile designers will be showcase their creation in July when the exhibition will be open to the public.
Meanwhile I invite you to be the first to read the catalogue of the exhibition.
The catalogue
Lee et Sofie
Lee is Chinese, Sofie is French, and together they create accessories using the most unique, traditional and delectable fabrics.
Each piece is unique "we intertwine handcraft fabrics from all over the world with contemporary designs". With this theme in mind, Lee et Sofie create an extensive celebration of colors, eliciting visual and tactile sensations that are woven into bags, hair bands, scarves and tops. The collection offers something for everyone in search for original designs.
"Our passion for traditional handcraft fabrics have pushed us to preserve this handed-down knowledge and the people who possess it: we know and work closely with each of our tailors".
